Hey everybody, I was just wondering if anybody knows any good, inexpensive hosting companies. I have my domain name and now I need to host my website. Where is a good deal? I've found http://www.astrohosting.com for $6.95 a month. Anybody heard of this company? Also can anybody beat this?

I'm a web host, but I charge $14.95/mth for domains. I'm damned reliable and give toll-free phone support, etc. I choose not to give away my services so I will not even think about beating that price. With a price like that, you gotta wonder what part of their service sucks that bad they can afford those rates.

I'm not saying go with me, I'm saying check into stuff more and don't take the lowest bid, it might just be the worst.

JMO,
Maggie

I'm a webhost also, and My lowest rate close to that is a yearly based deal. 100/yr, but we pay your domain fees, and stuff like that, not trying to advertise here, so I won't give you my site. My lowest monthly accounts are 14.95/mth also. At that rate of 6.95 a mth, I agree with Maggie, what are they giving up?

If you won't tell us your company, can you at least email us with it. [email protected]

I'm looking for a host and would be more than happy to give the business to a fellow gotapex junkie. Thanks.

I'm a web designer and I've had excellent success from pair Networks in PA. They are dirt cheap and reliable. However, they are very hard to get ahold of, so before you choose pair, make sure your already well versed at mantaining your site yourself.

For people looking for a national to global audience, I refer clients to pair. For a local presense, I usually go with a local company.

Everyone,
Thanks for all the replies and comments. I still haven't picked out an hostings company but you all gave me something to look into. I just hate it when I post on a board and nobody writes back!!! Again, thanks...

I've been using http://www.eicomm.net they are cheap$ for their most basic plan $4.95. I also use http://www.dreamhost.com for their 9.95 plan. When it really comes down to it choose what you need and the host that can provide you features you want without going over your budgeted amount. One of my sites is a personal website that is not going lose money if its down for a couple hours and there is not mission critical data there. No company can guarantee 100% I could pay for more hosting but I do other things too with my money like have waste it on deals and stuff. Anyways Since everybody else is plugging there hosting. I work for www.shore.net (http://www.shore.net) and our cheapest hosting plan is 22$/month

I've done webhosting quite a bit too, I'm starting up www.arshost.com (http://www.arshost.com) soon (there's no site up for it yet). My main site now is www.thetechguide.com, (http://www.thetechguide.com,) just has some tech info, still working on that (wanted a project that'd keep me busy, think this'll do it).

Like most of the others here, I charge $15/mo. Alot does come with that, no toll-free support yet, but I'm quick via email and have a cell-phone number people can reach me at.

Another decent place is www.phpwebhosting.com. (http://www.phpwebhosting.com.) It's only $9.95 a month, but their service is kinda lacking. Assuming you have no problems, though, they'd be fine.

Well, I personally am not a reseller. Nothing wrong with being one though (that's how I started) as long as the price and service is good.
