I went to a city college in order to save some money and take summer a class. I mean it's pretty cool because at my college i would have to pay over 2 grand to take a class, now in CUNY i will about 500. However when i came to register they administration was like, alright can i see your green card, and i am like i don't have a green card i'm a citizen, and they said, well let's see your passport (are they fuc*ing INS or something) so i am like i didn't apply for one yet, and they are like well ok until you prove to us that you are a citizen we will bill you as an International student. I was sooo pissed, i finished HS here and i go to college here, i mean how am i an international students, they don't have VISA's that last that long. The difference between tuition for citizens/residents and internation students is about $650
SO it took me 3 days to prove to them that i am a citizen of the States. Can you believe this crap, what we have to go through to save $650.
Damn them all, plus i was told the building that my class will be in is old and not airconditioned... nice

CUNY does suck....BTW which CUNY was it???

Im currently doing something similar...I didnt like my SUNY, so I decided to goto CUNY while I found a new College.

Now I will be off to SUNY Albany

Cruel puppet, do you go to SUNY Albany for the summer or is it your primary collge, my friend goes to albany i visit him once in a while there, i even stayed in the dorms a couple of times

No i was going to Suny Fredonia....Came to Cuny csi to find a new college...next semester is SUNY albany

I think as long as u have a SS number they will not check your status. But it is not strange for them to check your status with passport and stuff because there are many ppl here that don't have anything ... (illegal or other..) so they just want to make sure. CUNY and SUNY are so cheap and they are state colleges.
