It's a sad sad day. Douglas Adams, author of "The Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy" series, among others, dead of a heart attack at 42.

He had some really fun books. A heart attack at 42, huh? Makes you think....

49, not 42. 42 is the answer to everything.

ironic, that I just figured out how 6x9=42

Um, how exactly did you figure that out? Last I checked it was 54 :P

he means 6x7...heh heh. I guess something had his mind predisposed to those other numbers...

I actually had a few theories on why he did that in the book...but now i know the truth.

Unfortunatly i dont think i can tell....cause it would ruin the mystery.

But I assure you, there is a valid answer to the 6x9=42 problem

Because he was scheduled to be the commencement speaker at Harvey Mudd College, and died the day before graduation. I wonder who they scared up on such short notice?

Boy does that ever suck..

I did manage to find some good news though. From a faq I saw this morning, it looks as though the screenplay for the hitchhiker's film was complete. Hopefully it'll make its way to studios and be made into a worthy production.

Man, still bummed about this :(
