i've never really messed around with mp3 files at all, except downloading from napster or some thing similar. i was wondering how i would go about downloading a music file from a cd onto my pc, and converting it into an mp3 file. if anyone can offer any advice i would appreciate it.

have you tried download.com or similar site and looking there? you can get stuff there like grabber or something like that.

Get a program like AudioCatalyst or CDCopy, and just choose which tracks you want ripped to MP3. They're both really easy to use, and the results are reasonable. If you want it to sound more professional, get Sound Forge with the MP3 plug-in.

All these programs are pretty much self-explanatory, so if you can find 'em, you should have no problems.

I have never had trouble using Real Jukebox for this.

Music match sucks.

Get audiograbber and make sure you get a good codec, like radium or something
