internet problems

i am curtrently using IE 5. After formatting and reinstalling new OS (dual platform 2000/Me), i still have problems with the internet. I have cable connection and viewing regular websites is normal. However, whenever i try to log in to my email account (eg. yahoo mail, email.com) the internet is very slow to log me in. At times it doesn't go through. I am apart of a network. We also have an SMC 8-port router. Everything seems to be in place. Every other computer on the network seems to work fine. I'm stumped. Could it be the fact that i have and AMD cpu that effect this problem? but i don't see how that would factor in.

It is more likly that your email server is having a problem. Have you connected at good speeds on a different computer to your email?

yup... we all share the same router with the cable connection and on every other computer the email site and log-in goes through without any delays.
