Suckage: Stomache bob-sledding in carpeted hall

Okay, I was running (literally) back from my friend's room down the hall...and as I passed another friend's room, he opened the door and said something or other, so I turned my head to look back while still sprinting...and I lost my footing. My feet flew out from under me, and I basically shot forward face-first. I stopped my downward momentum by placing my palms on the carpet, but I still had a whole lot of forward-momentum (ex-track runner here). I started sliding down my hall on my palms and chest, kind of like a bob-sled, wearing the skin off of my hands while my friends looked on laughing their asses off. I slid easily 10 feet, maybe up to 15; I'm not really sure. Now, my hands feel like they're on fire...and the skin is so smoothe where it was touching the short carpet. It was basically like putting my palms to a belt-sander for a second...but oh well. My friends almost fell over laughing, I kinda shrugged it off by just laughing at myself...but it was probably the funniest thing that these guys had seen in a few weeks...

Thinking of which--maybe this should be its own thread--but on some drunken escapade, I managed to get a FAT bruise on the inside of my arm. Everyone thinks I'm shooting up or something. Its pretty funny actually.

But anyway... I'm still gonna laugh at you and your super smooth hands. Its gonna be fun handing you stuff and watching it slip right out your hands.

they're not totally smoothe, but there are large smoothed out patches of skins at the base of my palms. it hurt a lot yesterday, but now it just looks a little weird. it's not that different from the rest of the hand anyway...just a little shinier and slightly tinted purple.

the wonder of a rug burn.

when i was 5 or 6, i was standing on a coffee table, and it tipped over. i slid across the carpeted floor face first, and managed a nice rug burn on my face and hands. for years my siblings called me r.b., short for rug burn. they still bring it up, and every year the reason for the fall gets more and more interesting (they like to make the story more ludicrous as time goes by).

its an old sesame street skit.
little cartoon boy has to go to the store for his mom, he needs to buy quart of milk, loaf of bread, stick of butter. the whole skit is him walking to the store, walking thru the store repeating quart of milk, loaf of bread, stick of butter. one of my favorites from sesame street.

hmm, i thought that was what the sig was, but i wasn't sure... as i remember it, it was a little girl, and it was a loaf of bread, a container of milk, and a stick of butter.
