How do I disable ACPI durring a win2k fresh install?
I have the abit kt7a raid and abit tech support (and about everyone else) has advised disabling ACPI for win2k...as right now everything thats a card is on IRQ 11...
not killer urgent but I am tired of "IRQ not less or equal" blue screens every other day... it sucks ass!

...the "IRQ not less than or equal" error is not a normal thing....
I'm sorry I don't know how to kill it but here's some ideas:
-set your IRQ's manually in the bios.
-turn off your USB IRQ/AGP IRQ in the bios.
-set your OS to non-PNP in the bios.
(anyway, ideas...maybe they'll help...)

The problem is that once you install win2k with ACPI support enabled the OS automatically assigns IRQ's no matter what you do in the Bios...
Ive disabled PNP, turned off the USB/AGP IRQ's, and set the IRQ's manually, but that did nothing, as the OS assigns its own IRQ's..
So I need to do a fresh win2k install w/ ACPI disabled.
And thats what I do not know how to do....
Has anyone done this successfully?
thanks,
johnny
When you launch Windows 2000 setup, if you press F5 during the initial section of setup, you can choose Standard PC, and forego the ACPI features.
