Focus vs Civic

Which is better?
The CRX or the ZX3?
I think as far as hatchbacks go, the Focus kills Civic ass...

Its much better looking and has more power.

Yeah the Focus is a lot faster than Civics, but the Focus hatchback is f*cking ugly!! The sedan ain't too bad looking tho.

The hatchback looks like a cousin of that BMW three door thing they made in europe like a year or two ago.

and I have ridden it on dirt roads, and even though it is not rally mod-ed, hand brake turns and grip is just phenomenal!

If you ask me, the sedan and hatcback are both incredibly ugly. Only thing uglier might be the Toyota Echo. I don't liek the CRX much either, but if I would have been given a choice, I would choose the CRX.

I didn't say the Focus sedan looked good. I said it wasn't TOO bad looking, compared to the hatchback at least. But yea, I would take a CRX or a Civic hatchback over a Focus. I'm a Honda man.

Hating things because they're popular is kinda cliche too, don't you think? It's hard to find a more reliable car than a civic. I do admit the new ones are pretty fugly though. You make it seem like popular things are bad! Fuck that, Britney Spears is cool. Well, kinda. (boobies) Just to let you know, some people like these popular things by choice and not just because everyone else has one. So let me get this straight...you bought a Focus to buy personality?

lots of people have civics because they're cheap as hell and reliable. britney spears is fun to listen to (i guess). nvidia is incredibly bad ass. m&m? it's eminem, but ya, he's gay. and i do have a calvin sticker :( but it's of his naked ass saying PARTY NAKED. my g/f put it on there, i've been meanign to take it off ;)

If you told me I had to choose a Focus or a Civic, I'd take a Focus. But it would be the SVT version. Those guys know how to have fun with a car.

If I had to choose any car of the same ilk, I would take a VW Corrado, hands down (don't tell me it's discontinued, the CRX is discontinued, too). Kicks the crap out of the Focus or the CRX, especially if you mod it up. Or how about an A3? THAT'S a hatchback I could live with...

Once again we get screwed here in the states. They have a 300hp AWD version of the Focus on the other side of the pond. The car is dirt cheap, it would almost be worth importing one.

ford focus is a vw golf/gti ripoff. they're damn ugly, and as for reliability...it's a ford for god's sake. if i was forced to choose between a focus or a civic, i think i'd buy a bicycle. neither of the cars have any individuality anymore. every yo-boy and his wannabe racecar drivin cousin have civics...focus is the flavor of the month.

don't get me wrong, civics are bad ass cars....actually any vtec honda gets mad props from me...but the civic has become such an overmodified (aesthetically) and way to common ride. seems like anyone whos lazy or has no thought process of their own, goes out and buys a civic and puts a hideous body kit and clear tails on it. but there have been some great work done with civics...i recall a finnish company pumping an ex to 350+ HP w/o nitrous. focuses are bad ass rally cars and i've seen a few that turned my head, but i see them falling into the "everybody's a tuner" civic trap.

but then again, what the hell do i know? do what ya want...if you're already a slave to society and you dig britney spears and have a ck sticker...then buy your focus and be happy being like everyone else.

for a little more...you could grab a 1.8t GTi, 150hp stock...easily pushable to upper 2's...and a fine fine automobile.

and it looks a hell of alot better than a focus.

or be a man and get a WRX.

my gf drives a Focus (Kona) and I drive a Civic EX...

the acceleration on her Focus sucks A$$! maybe cuz it's a damn auto-trans... but if I would choose a civic over the focus anyday.

btw, my gf has only had the car for 7 mths... and she already can't stand it. Been talking about selling off that piece of crap of engineering....

why are you even talking about these cars? = ) both are hella slow. a friend of mine has pistons, full built bottom end, supercharged focus hatch and that thing runs to 60 in around 7 seconds. fast? *cough..cough...yeah sure, maybe if i was racing him with a bmx or something. everytime we race, i give him a head start and i still pass him in a few seconds. at the track, i gave him a 4 second headstart and i still took him in the 1/4. the last crxs made will beat the crap out of the new focus, in exception of the new svt focus. but with a few mods, it will dominate. im not into hondas but i still think that the civic sis and stuff will eat the ford focus.

with the new civic si coming out in a hatchback, i would definatly go for one of those over a focus. american cars just aren't reliable enough. the only thing that would make me change my mind is the svt focus.

1)I have a 2001 civic LX...best damn car I've ever had.
2)Civics are made in america.
3)Ford Focus is ugly. Period.
4)And worst of all - it's a Ford.
5)A civic ain't FAST, but it isn't SLOW either. Considering it's pretty much a family car, it's bloody fine. You go fast, we'll still hit the stop lights at the same time.
