I just spent a damn hour digging thru this crap to find where to change my screen resolution. I finally found it but does it have to be buried so damn deep ?

And why are all the help docs so damn greek. They ASSUME you already know the ins and outs of the OS. It looks to me like they are trying to run off potential users rather than attract them.

Or maybe Linux is really a MS plot designed to keep us Windows drones in line.

A simple, REAL LIFE how to would go a lomg way. :(

Linux is by no means a consumer OS... it's not for grandma. There's still a LOT of work to be done. Even the "easy" packages like Mandrake still have a curve if you want to do anything really significant. You're right...all the help docs assume you know a good deal. They're written by nerds for other nerds. :)

If you want a real life book, I'm sure there's a "for Dummies" book calling your name... just don't look anyone in the eyes as you exit the bookstore.
