what do i use to clean the computer screen? do i really have to buy something to clean it? is there a way i can just use a damp towel or something easy? thanks for the help.

damp cloth works for me. But under no circumstances use a product with ammonia (Windex). It damages the Anti-Glare coating on the screen.

Damp cloths are fine for your screen, but they tend to streak a bit. I always use Klear Screen spray or the moist wipes to clean monitors and especially LCD screens. Its not too expensive unless your monitor gets really dirty.

Here's what someone told me years ago & I never do anything else -
Get a damp paper towel (water only) and a dry one. Wipe the damp one all over the screen to get rid of all the annoying fingerprints. IMMEDIATELY dry it with the dry one. If you don't dry it completely you'll see streaks and water marks. If it doesn't clean the screen completely, do it again. You should never use any solvents or cleaners on your screen.
