What do you people think? So far, with all the info out there on them two, which do you think will be better and worth your money when they come out early November?

The game cube just looks retarded. The only thing good about it is that they will make remakes (again) of nintendo's popular games and characters. I sorta gave up on nintendo after the n64.

Game Cube = toy, not a video game machine

Xbox = needs some heavy launch titles or it will flop, even with it's half a billion ad campaign...and right now it has very few big titles that people recognize

PS2 = growing slowly but steadily, ready to pound the competition with great titles like MGS2, FFX and FFXI, GT3, Virtua Fighter 2, NFL2K2 and with new versions of release titles like SSX: Tricky, Madden 2002, etc. If you call yourself a gamer and is still pessimistic about the ps2, take a look at the shots of Time Crisis 2 on ign.com....god damn...

But I still give Xbox some credit, if they can make a bigger splash than the gamecube and turn some heads, this baby can fly. I just switched my position on the xbox from hater to thinker since I saw the videos of Halo.

yeah, halo looked pretty damn good.
i'm casting my vote on the x-box side...but i think that playstation 2 will unfortunately beat them out.
PS2 is getting all of the activision Pro sport titles (tony hawk 3 and whatnot...) and those are the games that i love.
i'll post x-box and game cube pics later tonight...

umm, Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2x, THPS 3, Matt Hoffman BMX game, those sound like activision pro sport games to me.

GameCube is good for them folks with yonger kids. It's basically a family unit.

X-Box as we all now will be the one to buy for hardcore gamers.

i did say "PS2 is getting all of the activision Pro sport titles (tony hawk 3 and whatnot...) and those are the games that i love"

X-Box isn't getting all of them, and the snowboarding game is the one i want most...i'm always looking for a new good snowboarding game to mess around with (and i'm getting a little tired of Cool Boarders titles (not bored with the SSX controls yet...but i don't own it, so that explains that...))

BTW I found out that Halo will still be released on the PC, just a bit later than the Xbox, so now I once again have little incentive to get an Xbox.

Also Cnet reported today that the Gamecube will sell for $199 and be released a week earlier.

well...unfortunately it looks like with that cool $199.95 pricetag, announced yesterday, we can all mourn that the Game Cube will probably outperform the X-Box in the markets...but we all know that the X-Box will be the best system yet at the time of it's release...besides the original NES...

why is that prominx? I'm just curious as I haven't seen a game I really want other than Halo.

Prominx, do you own a ps2?

Btw can you fix your screenshots?

i tried to fix the problem, but when i tried reposting some of the pics, i just got an error message: "Error Saving File: There was an error while saving the uploaded picture. Please try again."

Anyone else who uses zing noticing this problem or is it just me that they're screwing?

ps - dark mountain (or whatever it is called :P) will be...interesting as a snowboarding game (a mission-based snowboarding game...odd) and both NFL Fever 2002 and Madden 2002 look pretty good. I'm far from a traditional sports video-gamer (besides snowboarding and hockey), but I've been known to enjoy a few of the football video games.

pss - nope, i don't have a ps2; if i did have one, i'd buy SSX in an instant...and i would also buy those repeatedly-aforementioned, upcoming, activision titles.

Its too early to say which console will come out on top. Different markets sometimes want different types of games to play. And since its the games that make a console worth owning or not, the top console may be different for each market-Japan, North America, and Europe.

Amped looks like it'll be a good snowboarding, and iu agree with ProMinx that the mission based one looks interesting.

X-Box is also getting Unreal Championship, so there is another bonus.

bah...to play an fps with a controller is pure torture. you really need a keyboard and mouse for that...

well, the x-box has the dual control that should make FPS games easier for the console.
one joystick controls movement while the other controls aim and sight.

Playstation's had that forever, and it still sucks. The great thing about mouse control is you can spin around as fast as you want and stop on a dime. An analog thumb pad can't do that. However, the dreamcast has a keyboard and mouse, the PS2 will have one soon, and I'm sure the X-Box will have one.

By the way, ProMinx, is that the digital pad on the left, below the analog? That looks kinda big and bulky... Opposite of a dreamcast and playstation controler.

i hate the dreamcast controller! because of the way its shaped on the back, it causes my middle finger knuckle to be pressed against the back of the controller. The groove between the trigger buttons and the back of the controller (where the memory slots are) is too small for my taste. Ive actually had a callus form after playing a hard game of NBA2k1

Yea, I think the Dual shock PS2 controller is as good as it gets. Pressure senesitive buttons, built in force feedback, great layout, and on top of it all a long ass cord.

It seems PS controllers are by far the best and most comfortable controllers out there. I don't like the huge bulky ones (Dreamcast/N64/Xbox) ones. I miss the old school controllers.

A mouse will supposedly be released for the X-box for all of the FPS and RTS games.
