What first person game are you most looking forward to? For me, it's definitely the Unreal 2 / Unreal Championship twin threat. They're coming out from different companies, but they both look beautiful. Mezpin and I got into a behind closed doors only preview of Unreal 2 and took about 30 pictures. A lot of them will be edited and up tonight. Hope you like these shots...and if you call them artsy, I'll kill you...

what shots? I don't see any shots?
And what's this unreal championship?

Unreal 2 is the sequel to Unreal (full single player line but also includes multiplayer, of course)
Unreal Championship is the sequel to Unreal Tournament (mostly aimed at multiplayer mode)

Your beautiful commanding officer, Ida...
Why the hell are my dream-women CG?! I usually ridicule people who look at a computer graphic and say "she is hot"...but damn...she's hot!
i couldn't leave you guys without shots of women...could i?
05-20-2001, 10:26 PM
and of course, just because I like you...the non-CG Ida:
now she is HOT! That uniform puts me at full salute...heh heh
ps - who wants to photoshop that baby? if you guys want the full picture of any of these images, click the link i posted a few posts back, type in the password, then type on one of the pictures until it is so huge that it fills your screen a few times (then you'll know that it is the full picture...unless some of you are running at 1770 by something or other resolution).

hey prominx? can you do me a favor? Since almost every shot I've seen from E3 have flat panel displays, can you steal me a couple of those? i'll pay shipping =)
05-21-2001, 10:26 PM
The flat panel displays make better targets for taking pictures. They don't emit as much peripheral lighting. I wanted to gank one for me...instead I stole 7 :-p Yeah right, if only.
incoming Unreal Championship pictures...

when is this coming out?
05-22-2001, 09:08 PM
Unreal 2 should be out during the first quarter of 2002, but I cannot find a release date or web page (besides rumor mills) for Unreal Championship...although it is clearly farther into its development...and everything I've found says it is coming on the X-Box. I thought that it was coming out on the PC also, but I don't know where I got this impresssion. Here I'll leave you with a beautiful in-game screenshot that puts all of our pictures to shame.
At least here is another great game for the X-Box.

there is always emulaters
I haven't heard anything about Unreal Championship coming out for the PC.
The game length for Unreal 2 is supposed to be as long as Star Trek: Elite Force. Which means short as hell! :disa:

Unreal 2 sounds like it will actually have some pretty good gameplay with a macro-plot and micro-control where you actually go back and forth among different stars with a variety of mission types. From the description, it sounds like it could take you quite a while to beat the game...and considering how they haven't really put together many of the levels...and they haven't even completed writing some of them...how can you have predictions at the game length?
ps - well...i'll probably buy an x-box anyway, so i'm not complaining about unreal championship too much.
Too bad neither one is gonna do too red hot in your Fatherland Pro. Apparently Germany taxes the shit out of violent games (700% more than than on regular games) and they have already done so to Unreal Tournament. They took the humans in the game and replaced them with Robots that spew oil when hit. I wonder if they can buy the games online from the US and import them? Would they still be taxed?

Stupid German Gov't...how are we going to take over the world if you don't give your kids the same training handling large weapons in video games that other nations are allowing? It puts us at an automatic disadvantage...
