Just want to get some opinions on this.

I'm curious as to the legalities of posting peoples picture without their permission.
Is there anything legalyy wrong if I do?
What if they are pictures I own?

hmm, i think anything goes on the net, but for example if some guy with a camcorder gets you on video while walking down the street they have to have you sign a waiver before they can show your face on TV.

Yeah, I think it's still a bit of a grey area. Whenever I've had my picture taken or been interviewed at something, I've signed wavers just in case it was posted on the net.

I don't know the exact legal ramifications is someone goes after you for it, but a lot of reputable sources use wavers to cover their keisters.

Who exactly made you sign a release? What was the useage of the interview and photo?

the folks doing the production asked for waivers before they interviewed. they were actually filming too. it was for an online streaming video. the event was a race to benefit cancer research last october (rock 'n' race).

Ah... See.. the reason they asked you to sign a release is because they had something to profit for. If you read my other post you'd see that was the only instance I listed that you need a release.
