I saw an item at CDRLABS.COM that CompUsa is going to have a Teac 16x10x40 burner for $99.99 after rebate May 27 and 28. They have a review of this drive and seem to like it a lot, also say it has second generation BurnProof. This looks potentially hot.
Also, I got an email from circuit city indicating they will have a Pacific Digital 12x10x32 for $99.99 shipped on Sunday. I don't know anything about the drive, but the picture appears to have a BurnProof logo on it as well.

I think the review at cdrlabs.com will answer a lot of these questions, it seems very thorough. Unless these guys are really blowing smoke out the wazoo, the Teac drive does have BurnProof. Why they don't promote that fact is beyond me.

cdrlabs has a review of the Teac drive. They also say the Cendyne is the same drive as the Teac, and that both have Burnproof. They say Teac licenses BurnProof, and that these drives have a newer version of it than older drives. They sound credible, and the review appears to be thorough.

Oops, sorry. Meant to post this on a different thread.

hehe if you went to CompUSA to buy the drive with Nero, you'd be disappoined. The Teac on sale today and tomorrow comes with EZ CD Creator Basic 5.0. I saw it with my own eyes. ;)
I was tempted to buy it, but I tested my Yamaha with CloneCD last night and it worked for a SafeDisc copy. I had to disable auto-detection of capabilities, but the copy worked fine. That was the last thing I hadn't tested.
