Don't know if anyone has posted this before, but I thought I would let people know about it.....
Here is how it works:
Some telemarketer will call you over the phone (they have called me about 3 times already....once at work and twice at home) and offer you the excellent deal of six magazine subscriptions for free.....then they spout off what the magazines are and tell you that if you don't like those, that you can choose from up to 250 more.
Then once you get interested, they say that the only thing they ask for in return is that you pay like $3.84 per week for all six magazines to cover the shipping charges.
Now $3.84 doesn't sound like much, but if you do the math, you come out to like $33.00 per year, per magazine......and every magazine subscription I have ever gotten has been less than $20 per year.
So anyway, that is my warning and breakdown of the little scam someone has going on.....just in case any of you guys get the phone call. However, it is fun to let the telemarketer make the whole speech, and then rip apart the scam at the end of it all. Last lady got kind of flustered and acted like she didn't know what I was talking about.
