I got laid off today. I wasn't really surprised cus I wasn't really doing too much, and my company has been laying off a lot of people in my dept. What sucks is that they gave me a laptop . . . well at least i thought they gave it to me. It was a raw deal. I thought they were gonna pay for half since that's how much I had to put down initially, but now that i'm terminated they either want me to pay for the other half that they put up, or give the laptop back and pay for 2 months worth of usage, which is like 200 bucks. Well it's a good thing I got it stolen from my car ( http://www.gotapex.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=22170 )and replaced for free by the company, because I'm claiming it again using my mom's home insurance policy :deal: (She hasn't claimed anything in 30 years!) Getting it stolen was actually a good thing, strangely enough. I think they laid me off cus i just graduated and figured I would want more money. Which is true. Maybe this might turn out ok after all, as long as I don't starve to death. Got food samples?

Hmmm . . . that not enough work to do thing isn't very good. I'm kind of in the same boat . . . we might be losing the account I'm on because our account is getting bought by another company . . . so we're kind of just sitting here twiddling our thumbs until we find out exactly what is going to happen. On the bright side though, if we lose the account I'll almost certainly just be rotated to another account since they're hiring to staff them.

i was going to say Butch, if we lose are jobs we could go on a hunt for new ones in NYC together (or else just sit and get drunk together all day ;). but not if you are still employed. and not while i am still employed. :(

I don't remember saying I couldn't/don't sit around and get drunk all day even though I'm working! Pennypinch knows a silly little thing like work wouldn't stop me from doing THAT! ;)

Yes that company is fucked up. I thought I was gonna get money back for that laptop instead of having to pay them to rent it. No severence pay and was told to leave on the same day. Horrible management.

I dunno bout all Costcos, but some sell pizza and hot dogs outside. Not that u would buy this, but they also have fountain drinks. :) Just bring ur own cup.

occasionally jones soda has free samples at the costco in temecula...and i've seen them give out odwalla juice and other things there too. no other costcos has drinks? Seems a bit weird...
