...the jumble of poor ideas many people substitute for a true philosophy. Just the other day a young Californian male cursed the fact that he was living at this point in time; I asked where else he would rather be and the half formed idea collapsed into retraction.
It would be one thing if stupid beliefs were harmless; it is another when they seek to fill in all the mystery of life and thus cut off the infinite possibilities of human existance. I see too many people with repressed anger, who express hatred at whatever is currently socially acceptable to hate; a second later after stating this hatred the individual fervently pleas that 'disarmament' is the only way. How can one be disarmed and yet at the same time HATE?
Many of people who the media might term 'liberal' express much of this behaiviour, believing their form of hatred (http://www.thenewamerican.com/tna/2000/02-14-2000/vo16no04_liberal.htm) is more morally justified than everyone else. Alot of it just seems like wanting revenge for past hurts. Vengefulness rarely has a happy ending
'Rationalism' will yet be the end of many people's sanity
