If u could take the extra second or two to gently, but firmly close the door, your upstairs neighbor would appreciate it

I had a roommate in college who could not close a door without slamming it (apartment door, fridge, car). When we'd tell him to knock it off, he then started pushing the door shut softly, but sometimes it wouldn't catch. I can't tell you how many mornings I would get up to the apartment door cracked open.

i hate it when ppl slam the car door .. especially when it is my car! honestly, they must think that a car door weighs 2000 lbs and, therefore, requires a lot of force before it will shut properly

renots, do you live across the hall from me or something? the chick who lives diagonally from me the other night came into my room and asked "could you not ever slam your door again?" She was referring to the fact that our dorm doors are weighted and when you have them bolted (so that they don't lock you out), they make a loud bang upon closing. my response was "umm...no" There is no way that I am going to stop bolting my door for the girl who leaves her door open while she screeches (she calls it singing...but no one else does) from the shower...

People who always slam doors -- The concept is difficult to comprehend for most of us, but some people just don't have the common sense and were never brought up to be considerate of others. They will NEVER learn.

They are the same people who turn on their music really loud at 3am on a weekday. They are the same people as the roommates who will come in and turn on their music when they KNOW you're sleeping, the roomates who bring friends into your room, turn on all the lights and start conversations when they KNOW you are sleeping, the roommates who come into the room when you have music playing and then turn on their own music at the same time, the same people who sing with their headphones on at the library, the same people who pick up their cell phone in any kind of public place and start yelling into it....They're everywhere.

There's honestly nothing you can do about them. Trust me. I've tried everything. You just gotta deal with them and hope you run into as few of them as possible during your lifetime.

agreed, the world is full of self-centered, obnoxious, stupid people.

by the way, speaking of cell phones, no one can operate a cell phone safely and drive at the same time.

It is a scientific FACT that people can only do ONE thing at a time well (yes, you can do more than on thing at a time but NEITHER are given you full, undivided attention).
People say, "but when I'm on my cell phone in traffic it makes the drive seem so much quicker".- This is because the phone takes away from your attention of the road and your surrounding, thus making you lose track of time (or at least making it seem to go by quicker).

No one can safely drive will yacking on their cell phone, this is especially true for those people who think, "Well I can drive just fine with my cell phone".-People like that are the WORST at being able to maintain enough attention to their primary task of DRIVING.

Don't enough people DIE on the road aleady? Do people really need another distraction?

People have argued, "but its actually safer because if I see an accident I can report it faster my cell phone". This is true, but you DON'T HAVE TO BE DRIVING while reporting the accident.

Society did just fine with communicating before cell phones. For those of you who aregue that it helps you stay in touch with your kids, you are the most ignorant people out there!- Instead of an impersonal, high-tech relationship with your own kids, try a real one which actually uses personal conversations (get this) in person!!

I look forward to all the remarks from people who are so self-involved, selfish and obnoxious that they actually disagree with me on this one.

People that slam doors are the same people that change lanes without signaling, leave their shopping carts in the middle of the aisle, and walk five abreast at the mall making it difficult to walk around them. F*ckers.

Oh, and the only thing I might disagree with is the cell phone while driving thing - I use a headset instead of holding the phone in my hand, so for me it seems no different than having a conversation with someone that's in the car with me.

i do agree that hands free phones are BETTER than having to hold the phone but it is still an unjustified distraction. just have PATIENCE and WAIT until you are not in traffic to make a call or take a call. you may save a life.....and it just may be your own.
