I need an ISP for less than $15 per month. Anyone know of any limited usage plans? I have been using Bluelight, but their free hours are down to I think 8 hours a month. I used NetZero before them, but too much hassle. I don't mind a monthly fee, but my limited useage doesn't justify $20 a month. Does anyone use that AT&T 7/7 plan? What's the catch with them? What do you get for $7 a month? I'm in CT. Thanks!

Here's something from a while back that might help.

Thanks Sho.gun. I did a seach before my post and saw that thread. Not a lot of great info in there, and I wanted to see if anyone had anything new. Things change quickly with ISP plans these days.

They have an ad banner you run with their software...not a bad deal overall because you get unlimited time where the i495 plan (4.95 a month) is only for 150 hours. Also..if you find the appropriate programs you can setup a true DUN connection and bypass the ad software entirely....of course that would be against the terms of service you agree to when signing up for the 7/7 offer.

I checked around and the two most attractive offers I found for my area were the 7/7 plan and the new plan walmart is going to start to offer which is $10 a month for unlimited internet...it's not out for the general public yet though.

Thanks famewolf. That is the kind of info I was looking for. As far as the internet service, is the ATT 7/7 and the i495 the same exept for the hours limitation? How big is the banner? Anyone using the i495 plan? That Wal-Mart one sounds good, I'll be looking for that one! Anyone know anything about the timing on that one, or whether they will have a banner, or any other details?

The perfect (being reasonable) plan for me would be 40 hours per month, no banner, $9.99. Anyone know of anything close to that?

Yes. Same plan..same software... Unlimited for 7/7 150 hours for i495.

How big is the banner?
Average..has a navigation bar with a small add underneath it.

It's only been public knowledge for a few days now. More details will follow but the basics is Unlimited internet for $10.

The 7/7 after you bypass the banner. ;)

If you decide to go with the ATT 7/7 offer, try downloading Window Sniper so that you can hide the ad banner. The program works with other free isp banners also. It's timeware though, find a crack.

To me, I think Netzero is the best, fast connections, a lot of access numbers and best of all, WITHOUT BANNER (if you know how) :)

Netzero WITHOUT banner.
version 1.0 by THINH

1. Goto http://my.netzero.net/s/signup and sign up for a new account.
Please choose "password" (between the quotation mark) as your password.
If you already have an account, please change your password to "password"
2. Then choose a access number from http://gold.netzero.net/servlets/numbers
3. Make a new Dial Up Networking.
My Computer > Dial Up Networking > New Connection
Follow the instructions on the screen.
The phone number is the number you got from step #2.
4. Run the new New Connection that you just made.
The login is 0:4A0:[email protected]
The password is 0i"llphk/2

*If your password is not "password" then the password above won't work.

Have fun enjoying 40 hours of Netzero WITHOUT the banner :)
Any questions just email me. :)

I've using Netzero without banner for quite a while now. But when it runs out of hours, I can have a choice of Juno or Bluelight, bannerless too :)

try turning on ppplog.txt so it logs all the strings sent by the modem. Then you run the free ISP software which will then transmit your encrypted username and password. Once you have that info you can make a DUN. There's also programs that are able to catch such info such as Portmon and DialGuard.

yes, I used ppplog.txt to get the encrypted login and password. And if you want to try it out, you can check out a tutorial for Juno http://thinhpham.tripod.com/juno.html. I don't recommend using Juno, it will constantly kill your account so there's no point. On the other hand, Netzero and Bluelight are awesome. If you do this way for Bluelight, there's no limit on how many hours you can use. :)
