It seems that beautiful schools are always in a ghetto neighborhood ... why is this?

Columbia is right outside of Harlem, USC is in South Central LA, CalTech is next to the ghettos ... etc.

Who else goes to a school that happens to be in the ghettos? My school (RPI) is definitely in the ghettos of upstate NY

Dood! I totally understand. I go to school in the ghettos of La Jolla. Over here, I didn't even see a Jag or Bentley today. I did see a Ferrari today though. :hihi:

And you can't forget those UCLA-ers... all livin' in the projects of Beverly Hills known as West Wood.. those poor poor students....

I feel your pain, spent the last 2 years in RIT up in Crapchester NY. I am back in Cali now and not missing the snow one bit. Although, I do miss the Fall seasons in upstate NY.

Remember the movie, Dangerous Minds?

Well, the movie was based on a story that a teacher from my school (Carlmont High) wrote. In reality though, our school isn't nearly as hardcore.

Well I was at IIT next door to the robert taylor homes(worst housing projects in the nation) on the south side of Chicago for 2 years. IIT was also voted the ugliest campus in the nation 2 years in a row.

Hey, I know someone who goes to RPI. You know Nick Albanese? He says it's a pretty small school, so I figure there's a better chance of you knowing him than if you both went to, say, Berkeley.

nope. don't know him. he might be in a different class and that is why i've never met him. if you asked me if i knew an asian, however, there is a better chance b/c there aren't too many asians at rpi

when you say UPSTATE new york-where exactly and how far upstate do you mean? if you are talking chappiqua(spelling sorry) and that area where the clintons live-that IS NOT upstate. UPSTATE is rochester, syracuse,Binghamton, albany etc..I really get so bugged when people from the downstate area refer to anywhere 50 miles outside of where they live as upstate...they need to come here and see the bears that show up in late summer, and see the tons of deer eating the cornfields to death-now THAT is upstate.

Case Western Reserve, Ohio's most pristigous school, is almost smack in the ghettos of east Cleveland. So is one of the nicest hospitals in the world, the Cleveland Clinic. Sultans, and Royalty go there.

I wouldn't drive a sick friend to the Emergency room to that hospital or pick him up from class either. I know I'm a welcome site in the ghhhettttooo, but no thanks. Bars and razor wire on all the business 's are just too bad a sign for me.

The University of Cincinnati is the epitome of ghetto. Bring on the riots!!

It makes me wish that I had decided to go into major debt by attending Case Western Reserve. Oh well...
