According to the rules, there is a 1:12 chance of winning. Therefore, I bought two different 12 packs and hoped to have at least one winner. Nope, I am a total loser!
I had one can that looked like a winner (the ad was different from all the rest) but it didn't win either.
Am I doing something wrong or am I just a loser?
Also, I would figure that if the can had a double lid, it would be one lid taller than the rest. Therefore the guy that fills up the coke machine, etc. would be able to spot them all and he would have a pile of winning ones. Anyone know about this?

Couldn't you bring a scale to the grocery store to weigh all the 12-packs? If the winning cans do have a double lid, wouldn't it be heavier? I dunno.

The contest is closed to employees and their families.

Dude who stocks the coke machine works for the VENDING company, not the bottling company.
Same thing with most other coke vendors (ex. at hotdog stands)
Maybe your just a loser. :hehehmm:

Yeah the machine is owned by the vending company but most of the people that stock the machines are employess of coke or pepsi. Unless the machine is owned by someone that bought the machine from somewhere like costco and stocks it themselves. My friend's dad used to be an area manager for pepsi and would cordinate all the people that stocked the machines. And the 1:12 odds are actually a reduced fraction from the actual number of winners per number of cans produced. And in the case where they could just tell from the double lid thing then you could go to the earlier mentioned costco and just search the cases there. They are not usually in a box just a little half box thing. I'm sure that Coke being a large corporation and having resources to do the research would be able to figure out a way to make the double lid similar enough to a normal can that you will not be able to tell until you won.

if the fraction is not correct then how can then advertise it that way?... the wiegth thing might work if all the cases have nothing on it (dust, small particles..etc) unless the double lid is so much heavier then everything else...

the fraction is correct. you have just reduced it to the lowest common denominator. the percentages are the same.

Why other question was if anyone won in this game and if it was possible to win and not know it.
I figure that with 20-30 readers of the is thread minimum and 20 cans of potentially winning coke apiece, that the odds were at least 480:12 (40:1) that we should have had some winners (ex. There should have been about 40 winning cans)

Nah, we buy the cheap Costco brand. No Coke in my house.
Cokes too expensive. It's all bout PS Cola. Or whatever my dad can take from the breakroom for free. :)

RC Cola is the best Coke substitute I've found. Beats the hell out of Pepsi.
