Are these things worth buying for this price. Do the disks work on regular zip drives?

These are not compatible with zip drives. The are much smaller and use their own form factor. Not sure how reliable they are though.

I own a click drive. With an optional kit it is compatable with digital camera mem card. It's only a 40 mb drive so.. you cant really put too much on them but the disk are really durable! I would only use it for the digital camera though.

Hope this helps

Hey, it seems to be working again, I just ordered one and the total came up to be $25.57 after shipping and taxes... not bad for a normal price of $99.99.

It looks like it doesn't come with any media. If you're really interested, check the iomega store (www.iomega.com) and click hipzip... they're selling 4 disks with the pc card drive for $49 and shipping is free.

This is Iomega part number 12023, according to the Iomega web site, this package comes with:

40MB Internal PocketZip™ PC Card Drive
One 40 MB PocketZip™ Disk
One PocketZip™ PC Card Drive Carrying Case
One CD-ROM with operating software*
User's Manual

What is the optional kit to use it with a digital camera?

I was thinking about buying one and reselling it on ebay. But someone is selling one now.
http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1242379780
half hour left and its only at $25. I don't think I could make enough profit to make it worth the trouble.

It looks pretty useless to me. 40 megs, when hard drives are in the 10s of Gigabytes...

I have the Clik drive system for digital cameras, and it's a Godsend for going on trips. Durability is questionable, but that's why Clik disks have little cases for each one. I can now take approx 3000 shots before I have to go back to a PC...which lasts me at most 30 days of usage (I take 100-150 pictures/day on long trips, up to 250 a day on shorter trips)

I just checked - 137 in stock and free shipping too! (at least according to the pop up window - sometimes those things aren't so annoying...)

Does anyone know how to hook these up to desktop PC's? I don't have a laptop, if I can't then I guess I'll just ebay it.

You need a PCMCIA slot for your desktop. Iomega offers one that plugs into the USB port. There are also varieties that go in a 3.5" drive bay.

Can someone tell me how the digital camera clik system works? I searched the Iomega web site and couldn't find it.

i think they're clearing out these clik drives because Iomega plans to release a 100mb version (as opposed to 40mb) in september.

This makes me worry about backwards compatibility. i own a hipzip mp3 player and 100 megs a disk would be frickin' amazing.
