I signed up with these guys: http://www.Hostica.com and they charged me $10 for my new domain (1 Year!!) and $12 for the 1 year hosting (1 Year !!!!).
First I thought lets see what the trick is here but it realy worked out ! They did not charge anything else and I'm online with my site without any advertisments or banners on my site!
Hope it helps somebody of you also.

ya, I ran across these guys the other day. It really is a good deal for people who just want to put up a simple website. 5 megs is enough for a lot of stuff.
no scripting or database support, but a lot of people don't need that. This is just right for a lot of people looking for a simple personal website.
The 5, 9.50, and 14.50 plans aren't that bad either, although I've seen better.

Hostica sounds great.
Another solution is to use http://www.godaddy.com for domain registration at $8.95/yr or Domaindirect at $15/yr with Free website (has banner, but they offer email forwarding from your domain name plus other free services.)
Check out my website for links. I use DomainDireect (for domain admin) and Coolebiz for free webhosting (they have a small banner that says "hosted by coolebiz, click here for free website".)

Well...I looked through Hostica. They dont have good download speed at all. I get horrible ping replies from them. Does anybody else get slow speeds from them?
what do you consider to be slow? I'm new at this, so I don't know what is slow and what is fast.
I'm using a telnet connection (I'm in Canada on a cable modem using a host in Pennsylvania), I got pings of about 100ms, which is comparable to yahoo, exodus, and many other sites that I checked.. Navisite was only 17ms, which was by far the fastest outside of pinging myself - most everything else was in the 85ms to 110ms range
