I think I have a scorecard to keep you up with the latest opinions:
Abortion -
Liberals - Ok, because not yet independant life. Also, life of the mother takes precedence.
Conservatives - Not ok, because it is an independant life. They are at minimum equally balanced with life of mother.
Confusing factor - most conservatives exempt abortion in rape and incest although this does not make baby any less viable or any less important.
-----
Euthenasia
Liberals - Ok, because it is not good to force people to suffer through incurable disease
Conservatives - Not ok because life is sacred.
Confusing factor - Conservatives unwilling to assist in reducing pain (ex. Gov't healthcare or medical marijuana) so person ends up being tortured unnecessarily (a fate worse than death?)
------
Death Penalty
Liberals - Not ok. Every life is sacred. (Doesn't this contradict abortion and euthenasia?)
Conservatives - Ok because some people deserve it. (Again, isn't all life sacred?)
Confusing factor - While this might be seen as "an eye for an eye", many conservatives are willing to execute people for non-lethal crimes (ex. rape or molestation, or in the olden days - horse rustling)
----------------------
Ironies -
Guy who killed people in abortion clinic is himself being spared execution.
Dr. Jack Kevorkian is in prison for giving a terminally ill man a lethal injection similar to that injected in Tim McVeigh. The man who murdered Tim McVeigh is free and on the staff of the prison.
