This is not a "FREE OFFER" but rather a lure to get you to post on a competing bulletin board.

I suppose you have to wonder about sites that resort to such trickery to get postings.

Do bulletin boards actually compete? The purpose of the bulletin board in question is to educate users. In order to do so you must get members that are trained with computers. Nobody says this is free. That was made clear in the offer. I am a member of many forums and I participate in them to learn. If you don't want to help people, that's fine. But let others do so.
