I tried to buy the Manager Leather Chair from Staples, but I had the wrong shipping address. I called Staples to change it, but the sales rep. told me UPS can't deliever the chair to my parent's house (it was supposed to be a Father's Day present) because the item is non-UPS-able. Here is the stupid part: I canceled my original order and ordered again via the web site, giving my parent's address as the shipping address and it went through.

To add insult to injury, Staples claims the chair can't be delivered until 6/21!!!!

AnimEva,
Are you sure you are comparing the drive model # or the kit model # ? Staples stocks the drive kits, some others only stock the bare drive.

Kit has brackets, cable, software and DRIVE.

Bare drive is what it says. Just the drive.

This looks like the thread to post how dumb Staples is.

I ordered the Office XP/Palm M100/Digital Camera/Free Software deal a few weeks ago. Here's what happened:

1. Sent me the Palm Vx instead of the M100.
2. Sent me Office XP Standard (which I ordered) AND Office XP Pro (which I did not order).
3. CANCELLED the order for Office XP Standard and credited my account (after I already received it).

You should see my credit card statement. There are 6 charges and 3 credits from Staples over this one order, and I'm expecting at least two more credits before this is all over!

If there's any consolation, it looks like I may actually come out ahead on this deal...

Wow, I haven't really had a problem with Staples, and I've ordered a lot. Just in the last week I got three different orders from them without a hitch. I usually get the stuff within 1-3 days. Only thing I can complain about is they didn't include some rebate coupons, but I just got them off their web site.

Oh, and the first time I ordered off their web site, they said I was outside of their delivery area and UPS couldn't ship my item (a desk). That was right before two stores opened near me. Since then everything has worked out better than anywhere else I've ordered online.

Last Friday I ordered a laminator and some paper clips. The laminator arrived Monday, but not the clips. There was no mention of the clips anywhere. I figured they finally screwed up. On Wednesday UPS pulls up with two huge boxes. One of them was from another order, the other box was the paper clips!! I could have fit a few dreamcasts in the box they used for the clips.

I bought that same leather chair and had to switch my shipping address too.. I called staples and they were totally nice about it and changed it, and I got it in like 2 days. The only thing is that they didn't include the packing slip which is needed for the rebate. :P But I called them and they immediately wrote an envelope to mail it to me..So Staples customer service is cool in my experience. Oh yeah and why the heck do they use those huge boxes for paper clips anyways?? Don't they care about shipping?

Yeah, it seems that they save on shipping by delivering items using their own Staples trucks....as for the boxes....i don't understand why they put small items in such big boxes. But before, I would get excited for nothing, when I recieved these 2 foot by 2 foot boxes just to find out that it's paper clips...

You guys might want to add up the actual amounts of your staples orders and check it against your credit card statement. I just got my CC statement and noticed they didn't apply a coupon to an order I had made over a month ago. There was a problem with the order for some reason so they cancelled it and made another order # and didn't apply the coupon to the new order. So just for kicks I checked on a couple other orders and noticed they were the wrong amounts also...only by a few cents in my case, but it makes me wonder why its off at all.

Forgot to mention, I called them and they fixed it pretty quick.
