Benwin Flat Panel on Deal Pages - Not a Deal

Just a warning about the speakers listed on the deals page, I bought these several months ago. These speakers are just crap! The sound is tinny and muffled, a pair of cheapie $5 computer "cone" speakers are 3x better.

Like the deals page says, "they look cool". If that's all your after, then buy them, place them nicely on your desk, just don't bother to plug them into your sound card.

I totally agreee. I demoed these speakers at a store and there only slightly better than the standard speaker in my ATX case.

They're not THAT bad... Of course you're paying for mostly the looks.

Do the Apex crew get some form of kickbacks from posting compgeek stuff? Don't get me wrong, I buy stuff from Compgeeks all the time, but sometimes I don't see any real "deals" in the stuff posted and wonder how they're always getting on the frontpage of places like gotapex, techbargains, dealnews etc.

Maybe I'll regret bringing this up...
