Well I read an article today and I thought it made good fodder for a forum discussion. ExtremeTech.com is a new arrival in the techie web site community, doing things differently than its parent company Ziff Davis by having what looks like a decent community. Their articles and tutorials are good looking too, appearing to be the same sort of stuff you'd see on a small fry web site. Their layout is very cluttered and the advertising is a terrible eye sore, but the content looks right on.

Does the corporate presence piss y'all off? Is there room for a big feller like this, or will they lead to the demise of the smaller sites that we all know and love?

I think the content looks pretty good, but I worry about all the little guys. It could be another M$ vs. Netscape. Too many ads, but that's the nature of any zdnet site.

Give me a free t-shirt and I will take a look.

Give me a free hundred in free products and I will like it.
