I am sticking to only one..THE SONS OF ITALY..(of which I happen to be a trustee. (yes they let us women in as well-we have our own little division!)..it amazes me that MOST of the women (and even the men) are so much older than me. The best thing about being in the organization is that I get to sit and listen to these old italian women curse amongst themselves every second Tuesday of the month. Its funny as hell-they all come dolled up in their gold shoes, jewelry, bright red lipstick and fashionably died jet black and maroon hair..SOMEONE SHOOT ME if I ever get that way..gold shoes? *groan*..on the positive side..we do alot for the community and donate alot of $$$ to research for COOLIES ANEMIA. And if ANY OF you New York state college students are in need of $$$ they GRAND LODGE offers large scholarships each year. As long as you are of italian heritage you can apply. It's worth a shot right? Keep that in mind for the fall when you apply for school.

to do community service
I call him 'your honor'

I was once in the "Key Club" in High School. This was so I could be a member of the Clown Club.

We visited old people but that was it.

I now dress up and scare people at a Haunted House that donates some profits to charity

At both places I think I probably looked like some of the ladies you described.
