Yeah, I hear that. They really need to make a movie that combines the chase scenes from Ronin with the cars from Gone in 60 Seconds. Except it would be freaking expensive to make, when you're trashing Ferraris and Porsches instead of Peugeouts and Renaults.

duno... i know it is hard to talk about the import world but maybe it will work out.. just don't see it with high hopes but don't be ready to dump on it either. Also not ure why u guys say it is Rice Rockets... that is only true if they can't preform but from the looks of it, they actaully have some power in them

I though it would be true for any Japanese import that is made to look like that whether it can perform good or not, but, then "rocket" would make you think it is fast so it would make you think of the ones that have some good speeeeeeeed...

Anyways.. Yes, I Will go see the movie. I am not fond of those cars, but, I like faced paced action movies, especially with cars speeeeeeeding. :D

It's too bad the best car in the movie (as far as I can tell from the previews) gets destroyed. My dad had one of those 30 years ago (so you know I am not talking about the one that blows up).

i'd say it was interesting/entertaining, the main girls were definatly hot...

anyways, if anybody can identify the music during the rave/dance scene, that'd be greatly appreciated.

I guess I would see it if someone gave me a free pass or something like they used to give at UCSD. I'm not too choosey when it comes to free movies, especially since I sat through that movie "The Jackal". If I can make it through that movie, I can make it through any.

I get all of my movies free so I am gonna go see Tomb Raider. Sword Fish, Pearl Harbor and The fast and the Furious. I just changed the sign tonight and when I was putting up DR.Doolittle 2 I dropped the D in Dolittle and it said oolittle for a bit and some guy drove by and said "Hell yea Dr. oolittle rules" Quite amusing.:)

Yeah, i'll let you know. I'm going to see it tonight, and there isn't a mainstream "techno" track that I haven't heard.

And CluelessSi, I just kind of refer to all modded Japanese imports as "rice rockets." I respect the ones that are actually fast, but I'm just not very interested in any of 'em.

i was also wondering how can you tell the diffeence between the differe genres of music at raves (techno, trance, house, deep..etc) also how you are suppose to Dance/Rave to those (slow, fast blah blah blah)

well, i'm going to see it. why, i don't know. no actually i do...i'll start with this, i'm a huge fan of low-key cars. i currently have a 99 3rd gen VW Jetta, with some mods, but I'm keeping it as stock looking as possible. i mean, why do people insist on making cars look faster than they are? i'm sure you've all seen http://www.riceboypage.com anyway, when i first got into tuning, i wanted wheels, i wanted a big ass spoiler, i wanted it all...but then a friend taught me a valuable lesson. he took me for a ride in his nissan nx2000...little 4cyl t-top thing...looked stock as hell, lowered/exhaust but other than that...no visible externals...this was one of the fastest 4cyls i ever rode in...it was utterly amazing. he looked at me and said "imagine pulling next to some riced out civic and blowing his doors off...element of surprise my man and i'm not faking anything" so my point....

i'm fascinated by the types of people who insist on making their cars look faster than they are...and fast n furious will probably be a good laugh for me. it's intriguing, i'm a CAR enthusiast and i love seeing normal cars tuned. so who knows...i waste 8 bucks see some fast cars and hot chicks...big deal, right?

of course, i know this flick will be the riceboy's theme for the summer...ugh

aglio, just what I like to hear. My views are basically the same, minus wanting to own a Supra some day. If your car is fast, it'll speak for itself. I'm not against having it look NICE (lowered, decent paint, etc.), I'm just against the massive excesses that seem to be the goal of many so-called "tuners."

And CluelessSi, that's a whole other thread. Maybe I'll start it when I'm not at work and have about half an hour to rant about electronic music.

here's my opinion...

being in the midwest where it nearly isn't as proficient as a sport as compared to the west coast, i look down upon those who have "suped" up rides...why???

just personnal experience, i have a '96 civic ex (vtec...hehe)...but it's such a money pit, yes i have the coffee canister of an exhaust, spoiler and stuff, but i'm out of the sport now. i've been broken into twice, pulled over numerous of times...bottom line, you get a lot of attention, some of it is obviously wanted (girls, street racing), and some it it isn't (haters, robbers, thieves, vandels, COPS).

i respect those rice rockets who aren't too show-y, i like clean mods and no extravagent things like shogun spoilers that make it look like a 757. most of the people who do mod up their cars, do it in stages, and i'm quite annoyed by cars with unpainted body kits and such...looks quite ridiculous (sp?).

if i had the money, and time i'd make a sleeper, and for those of you who know what one is, you then know why i'd make one. nobody suspects a thing, not even cops, but once you full throttle, you're gone. right now, i'm just into the basics...rims, audio systems, basically asthetics...because the bottom line is that..true you can get your 4 banger into a sub 10 second car, but you're goin to end up dropping tens of thousands to do so, and the average joe-shmoe doesn't have that kinda cash, i know i don't. i'm actually

that's just my two cents...i might have pissed some of y'all who are serious tuners...to you i apologize, i was once just like you, but i just got burned too many times and in many different ways.


oh yea, by the way, ICE-9, if you actually do find the name of those tracks...gratefully appreciated and i thank you in advance.
