Ok
I lost my dial up internet access
Now I want to upgrade to Broadband
Except I don't know who the cable provider for my area is. Does anyone know where I can find that?
Also I don't think I can get DSL where I live, my zip code is 92324 and everywhere I look there is no one that offers any broadband for my area.
Any other ideas?
I am considering going the sat route, but with a sat connecton my uplink speeds will suck a fat nut.

Dunno who your cable provider is, although I'd say you should just watch TV for a few hours and you'll probably find out. They advertise pretty continuously on the networks, at least in my area.
Check with PacBell about DSL. They suck, though, I'd go with cable if you've got a choice.
And as for uplink speeds, mine suck on cable, so I doubt that's going to be any worse on a sat connection. Good luck, I couldn't survive without my cable modem!

my dad called my cities chamber of commerce to ask about who provides our cable, and they said that the company doesn't offer broadband
i don't think i can get dsl
so i have two options left, a OC18 connection (YEAH RIGHT)
or Sattelite

it's not just the uplink speeds..ping on a sat sucks, because the signal has just so far to go. Sat is ok, if you have no choice, and plan on no gaming.

Adelphi is the one
I don't think they offer Internet, but I am checking
I found a DSL provider, but they want 50 a month with no choices in packages 1.5Mbs down 750Kbs up
The provider is DirectTV they already receive a check for 50+ from my house, and my dad doesn't want to send another.
Thanks for all the info guys
I am going to go visit DSLREPORTS.com
