here is my chance to sound like a real moron....but that is ok, cuz i have been acting like it so much lately....why break with consistency?

is the church of satan really a church in and of itself? i mean...isn't satan really a christian concept? so i would think that satan's church relies on the christian church to exist.

on a side note...looking at the bottom of http://www.churchofsatan.com/home.html , it is good to see amazon.com is participating in community affairs.

Isn't God really a concept of Judiasm that Christians borrowed? So is Christianity really a religion? Doesn't it rely on Judiasm to exist?

What does it take to qualify as a religion? A belief structure? Belief in a higher power? Heck, some Buddhists don't even believe in a higher power, is that still a religion?

I'd guess worshipping Satan is still a religion. Maybe a strange one, though. Not sure why you'd wanna befriend a guy that's going to torment you for all eternity.

I believe that Christianity and Satanism have the same users manual; the Bible. I believe alot of the doctrine in the Church of Satan is based on the Bible, anyways.

Actually, you are all wrong. The references dealing with christianity were created to invalidate christianity. The satanists (Anton Le Vey) created a book glorifying satan as a godlike figure in order to show that anybody can be glorified. In fact, true satanists do not worship satan. they just dont beilieve in passing off responsibility.

For instance when whitney huston wins a grammy she always thanks god... if you loose all your money you say god is punnishing me. The satanists say screw that... If i win its cause i worked for it and if i loose..well thats my responsibiliy. They want people to take responsibility for themselves. Which I agree with, however.

they also belive in several things that i dont..for instance, they belive in selfishness and greed and self glorification and vanity and lust and such (7 deadly sins) they belive that all of those sins stimulate life and are only bad because the christians say they are bad.... now i dont belive that myself but i can see arguments for and against it.

wrong as in the satanists do not use the bible as a reference manual and theya re not rooted in christan beliefs thats waht i ment by wrong. It was not ment in a condescending way. as far as the link, I did not click on it cause i am at work and have barred access from most websites.
