Apex 600-A dvd players from buy.com arrived!!!

My 2 infamous buy.com Apex 600-A dvd player just arrived despite many big ass attempts trying to cancel after minutes it went into the system. Here's my issue, since I have the package anyway and didn't sign for it, should I open it up and check it if it has the loophole? Will they refuse to give me a refund if they find out it's been opened? It seems like odds is that these boxes have no loopholes from previous posts. Please advise...

They will more than likely NOT have loopholes-- it's pretty hard to track a loopholed Apex down right now (of course, new cracks are appearing-- certain models will take a ROM swap, and some people have swapped ROMS, disabled Macrovision and region coding in the menu, then swapped ROMS back and the settings stay!).

Does your box say MPEG-3 audio anywhere? Or "Spatializer"? If it says Spatializer there is about a 99% chance it won't play MP3's-- those are very old models.

If it says MP3, you at least have an MP3 model...

You probably should have figured out a way to refuse shipment since buy's weird about taking clearance items back... you'll have to make a story up to buy.com to have them take a return now.... :/

I am gonna return my buy.com one to circuit city...

so i am gonna open it...i just gotta go pick it up..i'll let you know..

Ok...here is a synopsis of the buy.com apex player.

IT DOES NOT HAVE LOOPHOLE..
it doesnt even have mp3...

The remote controll is totally different than my newer one from CC..

Compared to the one from CC, the box is a bit different..and the remote controll is different...

I don't think that CC will notice this...

So I am gonna return my buy.com one to CC in the box for the CC one...

And save about $40...

I dont think it was worth it for the $40, but it was worth a 2nd shot at the loophole..

Damn! Why was I so honest!! I called and told them that I didn't sign for it but want to refuse it. Has anyone actually kept these things and get away with it. Maybe, I'll know better next time...
