I have an Asus A7M266 and a 1.33 Ghz Athlon. It runs at about 47 C. Is this okay? If I move from 133 Mhz in the bios to 147 Mhz, the temp goes up to about 52 C. Is this too hot?

from my understanding the Thunderbirds run hotter than the durons, and the 50 degree range isn't abnormal at all, for a T-bird.
My Duron is running around 40-42C.
You might checkout overclockers.com and do a little research.

Unless it gets past 60 I wouldn't worry all that much.
But this is coming from someone who gets antsy when his CPU goes past 55.....:D

yeah i think you're probably pretty good... what kindof cooler do you have? My 1ghz goes from 30-57C kinda crazy it moves so much, but i have good circulation in my case, but my hsf sucks a big one. How's you're thermo doing welbz?

If it's your idle temp (cpu's just sitting there), I'de worry. If it's the temp under stress (3D games), you're good.

Don't sweat it! Hey Bires, how did you get the MX300 to work with the p3v4x? I tried everything and finally ended up having to buy sb live.

Under Black & White it goes up to about 52 C.

Yeah....I wouldn't worry about that. Is it hot where you live? Cause if it, that's the reason that the temp is a little high.....but if it only gets up to 52 when playing games....don't worry about it.
clutchy - The thermalengine is working fine dude! I'm really liking it...it's nice and cold where I'm staying right now and the temps are 35C idle - 40C under load. :D
I definately suggest this to use....or if you don't want it, get the silver nmountain...I've seen good things about that heatsink.

I didn't *do* anything. It works fine. Allways has. I use the win2k native drivers in win2k and year-old Aureal vortex 2 reference drivers in win98.
