Well after a month of a frenzied membership drive, we started to get some signals from our databases. Many people were trying to fraud our database and sign-up for multiple certificates. Some people (who we track with an IP address) signed up as many as 40 and 50 certificates, with the slightest variations to make them legit.

Here are some problems I encountered in early December:

Ø The same people of so would sign under a slightly different names daily

Ø Certificates were starting be auctioned at popular sites for pennies on the dollar

Ø People would sign up under one name (a phony) and then deposit the certificate into their main account.

I didn't defraud this guy, but if got 10,000 legit subscribers and then could afford to give out 10,000 GCs, then why wouldn't it scale?

Chances are he is defrauding his advertisers just as much. (but then again, feel free to prove me wrong)

i had 40 all advantage accounts ... 15 valuepay accounts... i spammed ebay and made $100 off $10 referrals from paypal back in the days....

i sign myslef up to all those GC surveys more than once....

and will milk every single company i can to the full extent...

they shouldn't be so stupid to get screwed so easily by one stupid college student.. let alone a ton of em...

my mail goal is the California State lottery.. but not really defraud em... just using mth to calculate the winning lotto #'s

I, too, am a firm believer in taking them for everything they have

fake surf was an ingenious piece of warez that amply aided me in my cremation of All Advantage...

they refused to pay my LEGIT account, yet kept on sending me checks for the fake account...

so i sent them an email telling them that I would kill their business....

they didn't believe me....

how about 40 accounts running fakesurf every month for 6 months! HAH!

heheh

Heheheh, I'm not sure if I approve on the principle... but who can resist? I wrote a macro to play that stupid Jackpot.com spinner for me whenever I wasn't using my computer, and I wound up with a Palm V, a DVD player, $50 in Amazon certs, and $80 in B&N certs. Pretty good for about 20 minutes of coding and a couple months of spare clock cycles...
