Just wondering what everyone is doing to celebrate the holiday?

I will be in Boston watching the fireworks over the Harbour. I hear they are the best there. The last two years I have gone to South Side Seaport in NY and they were a blast!

Anyone know where in Boston I should be heading for a good view? Maybe low crowds?

I'll either be doing something with the new GF, like maybe the beach and some fireworks, or I'll be cleaning up my apartment and getting it ready to show (gotta find a new roomate!)

BBQ. It's been a rough couple days, and I don't plan on being able to remember any of them tomorrow. Anybody know if you can marinate steak in vodka?

Well, I went to a fourth of July party last Saturday. I bought some beer, burgers and dogs for tomorrow though. It's supposed to rain in CT anyways. It'll be a quite day... nuttin' wrong w/ that! :)

Ice-9, save the vodka for the Iced-T, throw some Worciesture (SP? I know, I just killed that word) sauce and crushed garlic on that steak...comes out excellent every time.

HAPPY 4th EVERYONE!!

Hey Ice... Vodka wouldn't work, but tequila and margarita mix is OK if you're going to stick that baby in the oven before the grill. :D

As for my plans... Wake up, take a leak, grab some food, go back to sleep. :D

molecular - thanks for the tip. :)

fabfore - I think you're missing the point. If the steak is marinated in alcohol, that's more alcohol that can be introduced into my bloodstream. Taste is kinda beside the point right now. But thanks anyway - I'm sure your method would taste much better.

Marinate the steak in bourbon and sprinkle it with salt and pepper. Then pour the rest of the bourbon into a tall glass with ice, and top it with a mint sprig. If anyone asks, it's iced tea... Then just be careful not to fall into the bbq. :)

there isn't a spot in boston on the 4th where there aren't a lot of people. :)
i went in town (to boston) for 4 years, and it was fun. we were on the esplanade far far far away from the hatchshell. so we couldn't see or hear any of the Pops. But the fireworks kicked arse! Have fun. I'll be watching on tv from cape cod.

Damn you Chosenfool - I am originally from Philly, but havent been back there in 3 years - which kind of sucks. I am so used to going down to the Art museum and watch the fireworks. Actually, my Uncle had a house on Ringgold Street right by the Art museum. He is only a few years older than me, so it generally was just his friends and me and a couple of my friends. He had a deck built on the top of his house, so we could clearly see everything including the laser shows. Great time. Wish I was there. I havent ever seen any better fire works than the ones going off in Philly. (Not in South Florida, Not in North Florida, Not in New York, Not in San Diego, Not in Huntsville, Ala. - Nowhere)

dude that is just sick and twisted Vodka is for drinking, no other suse should it have :)

Anyways if you want to marinade it well, take onion salt pepper and seltzer water i am totally serious, just put a little seltzer water in, not like enough to cover the steak, just a teensy bit 1-2oz

Bah, my pansy-ass roommates just marinated the steak in BBQ sauce and some lemon juice. Pretty good, but it took me almost until nightfall to get properly trashed. I was forced to just drink my alcohol, the old-fashioned way. There was brief talk about an IV, but that just seemed a bit overboard. How'd everybody else do? :D

<hangover> And now it is entirely too early in the morning for me to be back at work, but here I am. </hangover by lunchtime, hopefully?>
