it's funny how most of us don't know each other. in fact, that is part of what makes the forums a fun place....the anonymity....the mystery.
as with the rest of life, we create alliances, form opinions, and allow our judgement to take over. since there is no real personal interaction, we have a limited view of what another thinks. what we think of each other here is based on the presented opinion, diction, inflection, vocabulary, grammar, etc, of others. we also attempt to create an image of ourselves as well. so obviously we can (try to) manipulate the way we are perceived.
the person in the forums that you think is an idiot could be a genius. conversely, the one you think is a genius could be a moron. we praise some that perhaps in real life we would rather spit in their face. and then maybe we disregard that which we would be profoundly moved by.
it's almost like the popularity contest in high school that some of us liked and some hated. i see shadows of reality peeking through the posts. i see people saying "atta boys" to people that i am thinking "what you say!?!?!" and i see people ignore the most profound things.
it's a lot more than i enlisted for.....but if it was bad overall, i guess we wouldnt chose to come here.
