Getting better. I just paid $1.97 for Chevron 92 octane premium.

Is it really getting better in Cali?? Wasn't it supposed to go up to $3/gallon?? Well, that's good. Very good!

In my area (Chicago suburbs) the price for decent off-brand (from a local refinery) has dropped to $1.36 for regular unleaded, with major brands around $1.43. The price has been dropping steadily -- probably about 20 cents in the past 2 weeks.

In the Bay Area the prices seem to be the same or dropping. It surprised me that gas prices didn't jump up 10 cents for the 4th of July weekend. Usually the 4th of July signals a price hike and then gas prices just keep going up. Cheapest name-brand gas that I have seen (Arco) is $1.86

Umm, yep. See IntegraTypeR's post for all useful info that I could have provided.

DarkFury what are you doing in Indy? I thought you were a fellow Diegan! You're not a part of the witness relocation program again are you? ;)

Oh ok. Someone mentioned that they lived by ProMinx. I thought it was you. Wish we had your gas prices, tho!
