ok, well ive got a problem...my remotes for my sony tv and vcr are both broken, and the stupid display is on, and i cant take it off since the remote is broken. what to do?

I thought I'd lost my remotes. There are actually a couple of sites that'll replace remotes. I can't remember what they are off the top of my head, but I believe the search terms I used in Yahoo were "replacement remote control". Try that. I saw some remotes from the mid 80's, so I'm pretty sure they'll be able to scare up what you need.

Have you tried unplugging the TV?

tried unplugging tv, doesnt work. My tv is the SONY KV-32XBR10, and the vcr is the SONY SV-575UC. they are both top of the line electronics, even for today's market. they were manufactured july 1990. any help?

Yeah... it might cost you upwards of $100, but cheaper than buying a new TV and VCR right? :)

aaaakkk a huge ass bug on my desk...anyways, SONY makes universal remotes. i think ill head over to circuit city sometime and pick one up. anyone know when these will be free after rebate? ive seen them free before, but i was like, my remotes are kick ass, i don tneed this cheap one, but hey, i got screwed.
