Changes that D2x needs!

I think the most necessary change to Diablo 2 is a buddy list for Battle.net built into the game. That way you'll know, whether in one of the rooms or in one of the games, which friends are online. I'm sick of typing out /msg *... you there? That would be my number one choice for changes in 1.09 or whatever they make.

Another good choice would be to make it so that you get more than 123 experience points for killing the Ancients. My friend and I were playing in a 5 person game, and we whipped the ancients and both only noticed a 123 point jump. I just laughed, but my friend was pissed because apparently he had spent the last couple days just going back and killing these guys in a bunch of games (like a few dozen times total) because they aren't too difficult and he thought it gave a lot of experience. Hahaha. Sucks to be him. It was only my third time killing the ancients.

you don't have to do the /msg thing... u can use /whois (IRC command) will find the room the person is in

Yeah, I know about that command, but I don't want to type that half a dozen times to find that my friends aren't online. I really think they should add a "buddy list" of sorts for the 1.09 patch that they are currently working on. This new patch sounds like it has some great features.
- They're reallowing gambling of set and unique items (about time)
- They're making the countess drop a rune m(just ne of the first 12, i think) every time you kill her (not just some random item the first time you kill the bitch)
- More crafted items
- More Runewords
- New Uniques
- Improved Ethereal items (who care?! they're only good for mercenaries...i found a freaking ethereal unique the other day!!!)
- Rares will now spawn with at least 3 modifiers (they can currently spawn with just 1)

Sounds good though, huh? Those area ll confirmed.

Yea I hear ya, I wanted a built-in buddy list for battle.net for a long time... Maybe it is too much stress on the server to keep fingering ppl =P

There are the third party buddy list programs that work well.

There was an app called B-net buddy. Not sure if it's still compatible or if there's a new version out though.

I don't want to keep alt-tabbing back and forth though. Diablo 2x seems to run rather unstable on most machines and this back and forth switch freezes the game on a number of different systems. I know that at least 2 of my friends and i have this problem. But I still don't use the bnet buddy list. I just alt-tab with AIM.

the servers will be down for 15 minutes of "unscheduled maintenance" tonight, so there is a popular rumor that this will be the implementation of 1.09...but i doubt it. usually they take a lot longer than 15 minutes to upload and test the patches on all servers.

alas...no patch yet. oh well, i'm surviving right now (but i haven't played in about a week, except to help a friend mule once a few days back)
