You know, I used to call myself the "Rebate King" :)
But after all this garbage with Prime Peripherals, Cyberrebate, and others, I'm calling it quits. For some strange reason, I did not take advantage of the free CD-ROM and whatever else was in "Offer 50 & 51". I also had a funny feeling about Cyberrebate after buying from them one time last year.

I feel like I dodged a bullet twice and would like to retire with my record of 100+ rebates, never screwed once.

Is it just me, or have rebates become less reliable than they used to be?

Don't get me wrong, I'll still look for deals, like cheap memory and free t-shirts. But if it mentions a "rebate", I'm passing by.

I haven't been e-screwed yet on a rebate, it's annoying how long they take, normally I forget about them, then I get a nice $30 or so surprise in the mail.

Hey, money is money, I'll save it any way I can...

A simple soulution to a simple problem--

Don't buy products with rebates but if you do, don't exercise them.

...with all these internet start-ups tanking lately, and dot-com business down accross the board, I suspect that there are more than a few managers that are skimming here and there and watching the rules very tightly (you didn't circle the purchase price...you need to resubmit the rebate..oh-too late.)
I'm in your boat, kb0wwp. I took advantage of tons of rebates too, and I'm a little edgy with the turn of events lately, so I keep a huge paper trail with who, when, what, phone numbers, dates, etc.
