after my day at great america with friends we decided to go to watch final fantasy...all i have to say is that the animation was mind blowing. a masterpiece (and believe me, i never use that word). the story was semi-entertaining, but i'd have to agree with my friends; there were some holes. it had the same feeling as an anime...but if you're really serious about the final fantasy games, you might be seriously disappointed. a couple people were voicing their disappointment in the lobby...

anyways, i'd say a bad story, but not great. but the animation made it worth the $8.50

Sheesh Speed, with an image of the preview for you signature, you would think you knew what was goin on. I saw it, plot was a bit odd, but the animation was incredible! There were points that you could not even tell it was animated.

I think the main char is not as pretty as any of game main girl char... but I guess that adds to the realism :P

I thought the story was really good. Then again, I've played the FF series and I like some anime (except for that Evangelion shit)

The story was purely a Final Fantasy thing with the near destruction at the end and an uplifting ending (not happy, mind you). I don't think it's a story for everyone, especially the part of the public who goes and watches legally blonde or whatever that pos is.

It's definately an anime style of story. I thought it was very nicely done both in terms of graphics and story. The thing that bugged me was that the lips didn't move quite well with the speech. Oh, and I really wanted to put a bullet in the head of that moron. Too bad...

Overall a great movie. Dvd here I come!

Evangelion is great anime! If you don't comprehend that the culture that produces it is different from yours, it's your problem, not theirs. The "I don't undestand it therefore it must be bad" attitude is so narcissistic. Say that you don't like it, that's fine. But do not hate something because you do not understand it.

i agree, just cause you don't understand it, you shouldn't shun it out completely. take into the account the amount of detail that they put into their animations. it's incredible. you also have to take into account that most of these anime movies were first a tremendously large amount of comics/novels. try squeezing hundreds of stories from comics into a 2-hour span and see how munch sense it makes. for example x-men...we all know that there's more to the story and that the 2 hours from the movie was just not enough. all in all, anime is for those who appriciate it. i don't completely understand akira...but that's one of the greatest movies i've ever seen
