Some of you might know who she is, Diana Krall the jazz artist sings a song on The Score soundtrack. She sings the last song in the movie, I'm not sure of the name but she sounds great. The movie was kinda cool but Diana definitely stole the show in my humbly biased opinion.

Any other fans of hers here at GA? Im sure mojo has since he is a jazz fan but what about the rest of you?

Sorry for bringing back such an old thread, but I had to reply after getting a chance to listen to Diana Krall. She is really something people. After spending the last few months getting to know her music through downloaded MP3s, I decided that it was worth having ALL her CDs (Hey Record Labels...this is how you guys could have benefited from MP3s). I signed up with BMG music club just to get all her CDs. I must say the album that Chosen mentioned, When I Look into You Eyes is the best. One thing that makes it stand out from the others is that it has more than the typical quartet backing up the vocals. It has some beautiful orchestration reminiscent of some Bossanova tunes(w/ violins, trumpets...) which I am a huge fan of. If you are fond of Jazz, check it out. Or if you don't know Jazz, but just want something to get you and your significant other to get hot and hungry for each other on a quiet autumn night this is it...

i'd like to hear her dubbed into some of joe pass' stuff. that would be so killer (although maybe not so purist)

Thank you...damn good call. Not ususally the type of Jazz I like, but she is sweet.

I tend more towards Basia, Peter White, Spyra Gyra, Accoustic Alchemy.

What is the name of the song that she does on The Score? I want to try and find it to recall it.

well, she has a new album release coming out THIS TUESDAY, sept 18th. i havent heard anything from it yet, but im sure its going to be great...

I just bought it (titled "The Look of Love") and listened to it! It's simply breath taking!! Like I mentioned above, I really loved the bossanova style orchestration on the previous album (When I look into Your Eyes) and this album has even MORE!! She had the London Symphony Orchestra play for her. This orchestration was something not very present in any of her previous albums, so when I heard her doing it on the previous album I really liked it, but was worried that she was just experimenting with new styles of jazz. Fortunately it wasn't a one time thing. Looks like she's really getting into it more and more with this album, and hopefull it will continue to be a prominent part of her future albums. I am so happy. I just can't describe with words how wonderful this album is. This is by far her sexiest, most romantic album yet. This one's worth the money. Don't even bother downloading it. Trust me and go out and buy it NOW! Better yet, buy many many and give it to all the special people in your life. You'll be loved for it.
