missing ram

Hi,
I built a new system, with an Abit Sa6r motherboard
2/40gb hard drives using raid-0,PIII-1g,and trying to
use 2/256mb ram. Problem is I can only get 256mb. I
checked out all the things like damage, identical sticks,
the right ram for the board etc.I put them in seperately,and get 256mb. I contacted Abit who told
me to get an upgrade, which I can't find on the web site.
Any ideas. Thanks

Thanks for the reply.
Yes these are single sided, I had double sided, and
I moved them around in different slots but that did'nt
help. I read in an Abit forum that this is a problem
for a lot of people. I have the single sided sticks in 1 & 2.
