The choices I have are:
the X-Gamer for $90
the OEM 5.1 SB Live for $50
the Santa Cruz by Turtle Beach for $76
Which is the better value, etc. This will be on a new box. Replies appreciated, if they're relevant!

I had problems with a Turtle beach card with my Asus motherboard.
I had to use a Muse instead.
For what it's worth.

I'd go with the Live OEM.

It's also worth considering the Philips "Edge" line of cards, unless you need Linux support. Philips doesn't have Linux drivers, yet. I've got one and I love it. If you are stuck with only the cards on your list, I'd get the SB card.

If your being price conscious it's definitely SB live value. Heck brown bag it for a 2 weeks and you can probably have enough extra to afford the sbl gamer 5.1.
I have the cheapest philips card, and it works. Had some win2000 problems, but they seem to have disappeared after a second install. It was only $20 after a $10 rebate. I'd go with philips if you can find such a deal (b/c it looks like you just want a card that will get the job done).
