Christ, that's a seriously high resolution picture! The shading, the shadows, the contrast! I can see the bling off your Patek so perfectly! I can almost hear your Motorola pager blowing up from here!
Good luck on the driving test tomorrow.

Okay, every time I see a peach colored accord, I will immediately change to the furthest possible lane and put at least 20 car lengths between me and it. Thanks for the warning, Passwird! :D
Oh, and congrats on the license!

I got jacked. According to the DMV (http://www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/hdbk/pgs8thru10.htm), I can't drive legally until I'm enrolled in a driving school. Oh well, I only drove for like 5 minutes today. Backing out of a driveway is a lot harder than it looks.
The provisional permit may not be used until you are enrolled in behind-the-wheel driver training with an instructor or reach age 17 1/2. Be sure to pick up the Parent/Teen Training Aide (DL 603) to assist you in practicing your driver skills.
Anyone know any cheap driving schools? Or do they all charge the same price?

hahahahhahahahhaha Sorry, passwird, that's just hysterical! :) I remember being 15 1/2 and being scared to death. During Driver's Ed at school, I was driving along and was coming to a stopsign at a busy street. LOL I almost missed it and my instructor in the passenger seat had to slam on the oh **** brake. I nearly had a heart attack. :)

Since when do you drive during driver's ed? Damn, all we did was read paragraphs from the handbook then fill in the blanks on 48(!!!) worksheets. It was so moronic. The worksheets would use the exact same words as the handbook. We don't get to drive in driver's ed!!! ARGHHH

there is no behind-the-wheel component to your drivers ed?!?!?!? now THAT, my friends, is scary. my behind-the-wheel instructor had narcolepsy. shoulda used the override brake a lot more often than he did. i learned NOTHING in drivers ed - i remember being completely confused the first time i saw a traffic signal showing both a red light and a green arrow - what the heck are you supposed to do with that? i wondered. the honking behind me pretty much cleared up that dilemma, tho. and since my b-day is aug 9, i had to waste my precious SUMMER VACATION taking the stupid class, or else wait for the first quarter of school, and not get my license until sometime in october. AND the stupid class was at 7 AM!!!!!!!!!! ARRRGGGH! in july! that's just WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, good lord. Passwird, you're not reassuring me too much here. You better have about 100 hours of parking lot time before I ever see you on the road, or have nice big flashing lights to warn me that you're coming.
Err, I mean...good luck...try not to kill anybody...

Got back from my first driving lesson today. It was a blast! I did some right and left turning and a little reversing in a straight line. We're gonna go on the freeway on Tuesday. You guys should look for a greenish looking 00' Corolla when you're on the road. :)

Time for some advanced training. Go hitch a trailer to the back of your car and try backing up again. :)

hmm... this reminds me that I too should go do my behind the wheel test thing. Sometimes when I drive I get these urges to just swerve and hit something, a pole, a tree, anything. But I know that I'd get hurt so I don't do it. It's kinda like standing on a tall building and wanting to jump off just to find out how it feels like...
where's my croissant?

Damn, I was using the DMV online appointment checker (https://eg.dmv.ca.gov/foAppt/Inquiry.jsp), and when I typed in my name it gave me this:
Sorry, no Appointments were found for the name or telephone number entered. To conduct another search, click the "Search Appointments" button.
I was like, "AW HAIL NAW!" cuz I knew I scheduled an appointment. Then I started thinking that maybe the DMV girl that took my appointment felt like being an as5 and didn't take down my request.
So I called the DMV and the person ran a check on my name and said, "You said 3:45 at San Mateo?"
"Yea"
"And your name is ***** ****?"
"I'm not getting anything on the screen for you."
You can imagine my frustration at that point. I really didn't wanna wait another 3 weeks for my appointment. Turns out that the lady that was on the other end when I was scheduling my appointment typed, "***** Hee." So I guess I'm good to go. 50 hours and counting....
On a side note, my brother failed his driving test yesterday. The grading sheet says, "Critical mistake. Ran stop sign." He denies it though saying that he did a rolling stop. Whatever. :heh:

explain to your brother what an oxymoron is, two opposing words making up a phrase. "Rolling" implies movement. "Stop" implies lack of movement or an object at rest. your brother, my beloved passwird, is an idiot...
