I am hesitating on this deal, because the 64MB ones go for $130 on ebay. If I get the 32MB, and want to upgrade, I need to buy a single 64MB card which is like $120, and if I sell my 32MB Flashmemory for $40 on ebay, I end up getting the 64MB system for the same price I could have bought it for initially, but for a lot more hassle. I kind of feel like storing 6 songs on a player is useless, and that I need 64MB ram. Maybe I'm dumb though...

The Nomad 64MB IIs on ebay sell for much more than $130 - they sell for $145-$290 - see for yourself:

This is a very good deal - not great - but very good.

Thanks for the informative post, Justin. If it weren't for you, I may have taken my time deciding whether or not I wanted it...might have ended up missing out on this great offer. I just checked eBay and their last three 64MB Nomad II closed at $290, $234, and $295. I just ordered two of the $25 compilations (probably won't even download them) and got approved for the freebie.

yep yep, me too..but i'm gonna be selling my Nomad II on eBay..I don't mind listening to music on my computer, especially since it's in my room and all..and if I really like a song, i'll just put it onto a cd for my car..everyone else intends to keep it though, huh?

I dont think the 32MB version will sell very well considering its emusic specific, and pretty much every can buy it for $50...who would pay more?

The 32 meg version isn't emusic specific, it is just less common than the 64 meg version. Nomad made 64meg, 32meg, and a 0meg version of the nomad II. The reason people would buy them is because first of all, now only the first 5000 can get in on the deal. Most ebay people wouldnt even know about the deal and also the memory card alone is almost worth the 50 dollars. The 32meg card on www.nomadworld.com (http://www.nomadworld.com) is selling for 89.99, I am sure you could get it cheeper other places but it just shows that this is a pretty good deal.

Not to mention people on eBay are DUMB. At least the majority of them. I always buy something at a good price (if not a great price), and the worst that has ever happened to me when and if I tried to resell it on eBay was that I came out even (usually I make a profit). Even if I make a $70 profit (i'm sure it'll be at least a $70 profit), i'll be happy, that's like 3-4 weeks of free gas http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

I'm keeping mine. It'll keep me company when I go biking solo on the crazy trails.

maybe its just me but i just think this is just a great deal for a mp3 player which i am keeping and not selling. too many people have the mindset of profiting but this time i think this device is worth the price to keep. well maybe ill sell the 32mb smart media card...that'll more than pay for the price of the deal. 32mb's is just plain pathetic for a mp3 player. of course i'd have to shell out money for a bigger card...

I'm keeping it too Trae. I have the first nomad and I love it but for $50 I might as well get a new one. I think I will just sell the old one and both mem cards on ebay and then buy a 64 meg card with some money to spare.

I'm keeping my Nomad II as well, and I already have a 64mb Rio! The way I see it, the Nomad II is more expandable for the future-- I'll probably use the Rio until 128mb SmartMedia gets cheaper, and then go to 128 in the Nomad II.. http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/smile.gif
