I've installed the wireless router (BEFW11S4 - EtherFast Wireless AP + Cable/DSL Router w/ 4-Port Switch) between my DSL modem and main PC, and can access the internet through the PC (so far, so good). I also installed the wireless card in my laptop and although it shows a strong signal from the router, I'm unable to access the internet or see the other PC. Is there some Windows software that needs to be installed along with the devices?

Any assistance is appreciated.

can you access the router's software from your laptop?
are you able to ping the other computers?

Both computers have Windows ME installed. I cannot ping the other computer or router from the laptop. When i check the Network settings I've got the wireless card listed as a device but no tcp/ip protocol to go with it. I also don't have Client for Microsoft Networks listed in the network settings and when I try to add it, it doesn't take. It seemed as though the PC card and router are set to the same channel and I'm getting a strong signal on the laptop.

Tech support is a goof. When you call it, they tell you that due to high call volume they can't take your call (but you can leasve a 30 sec. voice message...I'm thinking something along the lines of, I hear you have a great product but your documentation and tech support suck.

So, you need to add tcp/ip protocol on it, no?

i don't think you need to add client for ms networks (though i may be wrong)....

so, in the network settings, if you see your network card on there, bind tcp/ip to it, and that should help....

Got through to tech support tonight and they directed me to download the drivers off their website. Although it has the same date as the drivers on the cd, it is corrected for ME. Go figure. BTW...I'm typing this from my wireless laptop. Thanks for the assistance.
