Seems like a really cool idea.........but....

cost is 300 bucks, contrary to the original article that claimed it would be less than 250....what happened there?

if the software sucks, dude....it makes lazy people like me not want to use it...

in something like counterstrike, i agree, taking my hand off the keyboard (and my eyes off the monitor) to switch weapons doesn't seem like a good idea...
(i'd rather just press '1', or '2'.....so on..)

for business, i could definitely see some use for it....it can make shortcuts easier...i suppose..

i think a 'programmable' keyboard (such as the rocketboard) would serve the same purpose, and be easier to use....

Darth, I noticed that a link to your review was posted on the high-and-mighty slashdot. Congrats! Also, it's funny to see people saying that they almost didn't click on the link because gotapex resembles the infamous goat sex link that trolls on slashdot tend to love. Maybe this is some good exposure for G|A.

that car mp3 idea is really good..
last semester, for a project class, we did some smart car thing and GM gave us a minivan and we put like $30000 of hardware into that thing...
about 1500-2000 was for a touch screen lcd screen...this thing would've been perfect...=(

Good Job Darth
You got GotApex? slashdotted.
This product looks pretty damn cool, but the usefulness might be a little overestimated. I think Iīd only use it for my shortcuts or maybe other web orientated things. RTS might be a good use but I donīt play many of those (no time)
Well congratulations...

1) What the hell is up with that URL? gotapex.com? I nearly didn't click on it just for that...
2) The biggest problem with LCD touchpads (this one included) is the absolute lack of tactile feedback. To know which button you are about to press (and to make sure you only hit one) you have to look at the controler. That is time that you spend not looking at the action on the computer screen. Bad idea in a firefight.

The concept is cool though...

I almost didn't follow that link because it looked like a certain other URL that I'd rather not click on.

Did anyone else have a momentary twinge when they ran the mouse over the link and noticed that the URL points to:
gotapex.com

For *just a second* I thought, "Wow, the trolls actually got a story posted with that ******x URL."
