View Full Version : McDonald's Monopoly Game

Okay, so I got my first pieces in the McDonald's game yesterday, and I always used to pool mine with all my friends back home. Well, most of my friends in Berkeley don't eat at Mickey D's (damn health-conscious fruitballs), so they can't help me out. So anybody who has game pieces, post 'em up, maybe one or two people can actually win something.
What I've got so far:
Pacific
Kentucky

I got:
States Avenue
North Caroline Avenue
Oriental Avenue
CONE, APPLE PIE, or COOKIES INSTANT WIN!

Actually, the idea of "teaming up" isn't worth it. For every non-instant win prize, you need to gather all of one color or group or whatever. In each group, there is always one rare piece, the rest are common. If someone has the rare piece, it'd be a lot better in their interest to just buy more mcdonalds to get the missing pieces.

but you would not know the rare piece without knowing the abundant ones :P
Also they might be smart and give the rare piece to other side of the country so that they will have to be somewhere else to get the rest of thier color.... :D

That would be stupid. They would be paying out billions in prizes when people started trading pieces by snail mail. Apex would probably set up a McD. Monopoly Piece trading forum for it.

Mr Behm is right, people. Statistically, after 17 visits there is an 85% you will have all of the non-rares (assuming supersize). Why give it away? The only thing the internet is any good for in this game is finding out the rares.

Ok, here's the listing for mine (which currently reside around the edge of my monitor :) )
Baltic Ave.
St Charles Place
States Ave
Indiana
B&O railroad
Marvin Gardens
Park Place
oh, and a freebie happy meal, and a free large sandwich.
There's a bunch of pieces floating around in different magazine ads and in the newspaper. Both of my freebies came from these.

Heh... I did that to my pieces when they did the McDonalds game 5 years ago, and then i spent forever scrubbing off the goo when I took them off. I ended up having to buy a goo-remover!

That brings up a good point. One of the Grand prize winners is only available through inserts (it's in the rules on the back of the board).

Ice: Just hang around the "reserved" police table, or befriend the bums outside. I'm betting they're not "garden burger" people :D
On a side note ... every year I get about five Monopoly pieces before the game ends, and EVERY FRIGGIN' YEAR, I get Oriental Avenue. Just because we are 1/5 of the world's population, doesn't mean that 1/5 of my game pieces hafta reflect it!! :P

An interesting fact the intern around here came up with: the normal odds of winning something on a pack of fries or something is 1 in 6. According to the insert fine print, odds of winning something with an insert game piece is 1 to 1!
So he suggested (and we should have hired him full time on this suggestion alone), why not just go to the supermarket magazine rack and let the prizes roll in...into your pocket, that is!

i am meaning that there will be say lots of reds on east but the one rare red will be on the west (and the rare being only a few of them... NOT a lot of rare in west...)

Perhaps that is why he is still an intern:
1. Yes, the odds of winning off the inserts are NEARLY 1:1 (that is because they are using the insert similar to a coupon to bring you into the store), but the prizes are only the small food prizes
2. The average VALUE of the insert prize is about $0.60 (small fries, pie, small coke, small coffee, etc)
Therefore, buying a $1.50 sunday paper to get a $0.60 prize is spending $0.90 too much

The kid was implying stealing the insert stickers from the papers, not buying all of the papers. Sheesh TLG, you should study up on your scams more often... That intern is a kid after my own heart (he's probably older than I am though)...except that he eats at McDonald's...blauf!

The rare pieces are the same as they have been the last 5 years. They are:
Mediterranean
Vermont Ave.
Tennessee Ave
Kentucky Ave.
Ventnor Ave.
Pennsylvania Ave.
Boardwalk
Shortline RR

All the rare pieces get shipped to a franchise in China. They are sent 3rd class, usually arriving about 3-6 months after the contest has ended.

Actually, I have "worked" for McDonalds' advertising firm (see previous thread) and so I think I am ineligible.
Either way, it is strange to be vilified for being honest.

i used to work at micky d's (1st job), and i've heard this too, so i'll back you up.
i remember one time, i took a box home from work. that box contained hundreds of hashbrown wrappers (back when hashbrowns had those stickers on them). i opened all of them and didn't win diddly. well, maybe some burgers, fries, drinks, but i got those free anyways.

Okay, so I guess the moral of the story is that this is a stupid pointless game.
Anyway, I just got Baltic, another Indiana, States, and Park Place. Stupid McDonald's.

I really want to play the Microsoft Monopoly game.
Steal other peoples inventions, illegally crush the competition and then be the only one left standing.
